The filter
FAQ on the home page, verbatim: “PolyBuzz strictly prohibit public display of NSFW content. All recommended content undergoes multi-layered AI screening and human moderation to ensure community safety.” “Unrestricted” in the self-description refers to freedom of plots and character creation, not explicitness. Terms: users over 18 get “the full range of AI content (some features require a subscription)” — what exactly the “full range” includes the service does not decode.
Age
A date of birth is requested at login; a guest cannot change it; a false date is grounds for a ban. For users covered by the UK Online Safety Act — verification via Ondato or Yoti, which “may request limited personal information such as a date of birth or an identity document”. There are no refunds for purchases made by a child by mistake.
Privacy
FAQ: chats are “completely private… neither creators nor Poly have access to the chat content”. At the same time the terms provide for content moderation and data processing for age verification. We did not analyse the privacy policy in full — not verified.
